This tool can be used several different ways: use a screwdriver through the loop, or use a pair of long needle nose pliers (see picture). Since the muffler is taken off first due to the pre-muffler hanger configuration, we use the outlet flange as a fixed point to work with. This gives excellent leverage to easily remove and install the springs. I like the fact that it is safer than the T-handled hook tool, which could slip and cause serious damage to your hand.
This tool is rugged and used for it’s intended purpose it should never wear out.
